This rocky, inhospitable planet was crash-landed on by Spock, McCoy, Scotty, and four other unlucky individuals. The Galileo Seven – TOS, Season 1Ī new character, created in the new 23rd century Federation faction, will find themselves soon after on the surface of Taurus II. Obviously, Spoilers Ahead, but I’ll try to keep them to a minimum. Here is a list of the top Star Trek episodes to watch to get the most out of STO’s latest expansion, presented in the best order as they refer in-game. With Star Trek Online’s latest release of ‘Agents of Yesterday’, the game’s storyline takes many cues and paths from the episodes, and many cues from the original series. Not all episodes were winners, but when Star Trek got it right, they really got it right. The way the episodes would flow, where in the course of 45 minutes the exploration of the deep grey area between good and evil, between right and wrong, was so thorough that it created such a lasting impression on me that I will forever be a ‘Trekkie’. I’ve also been a fan of Star Trek since my father and I use to watch Next Generation together in the early 90’s. I’ll even forsake a lot of the other qualities just for a better story. ![]() If a game doesn’t have a decent or even passable story attached to it, you most likely won’t find me playing it. ![]() Fun game mechanics are nice, yes, and the exploration, puzzles, progression, and graphics are also a plus, but for me the story is where it’s at. The main reason that I still really enjoy playing video games *at all* is the stories. One of the big reasons I’ve been playing Star Trek Online for years has been for it’s excellent stories. Star Trek Online’s Agents of Yesterday recently released and has been a callback to Star Trek’s origins on the year of Star Trek’s 50th Anniversary. Check it out and all the other awesome stuff posted on the site, like this review of I Am Setsuna (a game that does look pretty dang good). Cooper.Note: This post first appeared on Sub-Cultured. Pro: free ship, great space set, amazing ev suits, great story with multiple options on replay, nice graphic (the EV suit part was just plain funĬons: grinding, grinding gringind. I do agree with you boss: NEW EV SUIT! I want to rename a toon Daft punk. But itt's not like we are even half done with the Dyson Spher we still can't access the Voth control sector :) We'll see where they are going with that. the sphere was a big story enough without the need to bring "that" in it. having done it 6 times already with more to do it's getting on my nerve and i wish there was a way to avoid that battle. (But my ego got inflated after a while)įor the mission I have to go with the concensus: it is fun, but that end battle is ZZzzzzzZZ. And I loved that they took make it feel like it should be you on the ground not you FO. I still hope we'd see some of TNG caracters in the future. Having seen Tim Russ do other roles I admire how he his able to keep his voice so flat. In the comments let me know what you think about this mission, the voice-over work, and the new EV suit! It definitely makes it more enjoyable especially if you keep playing it to get the complete set of equipment. Come on Cryptic, get it done! To end off this blog I just want to say that while you're playing the mission, try picking different options to get the various accolades and to have a whole new experience. I just wish that little jet pack could be used when mining instead of just during the mission. I guess it just looked so smooth that I had to have it. I actually bought the one from the Lobi store which even surprised me because I rarely buy anything from there. ![]() oh wait I'm not supposed to give spoilers. I wish there was an option to leave him behind. Speaking of voices, wasn't it nice having Tuvok back? Perhaps it's just the Vulcan in me but I really enjoyed it! Although Cooper was a bit annoying. It's usually just one line of voice and you have to read the rest. Is it just me or did every major character have a voice? I think that's the first time Cryptic has done something like this. ![]() It's nice to have a lot of voice-overs in this mission. Don't worry, I won't spoil anything in this blog. Probably the best part of the whole thing was all the options and how they changed the way the story was told even though the outcome stayed the same. I can't say it's the best they've ever created, but I did enjoy it. Oh my! Ĭan I just say that I really enjoyed A Step Between Stars.
